CHICAGO, IL — Today, alongside its first campaign finance filing, the Patrick Gilsenan for 32nd Ward campaign announced a strong initial fundraising total of $67,400 raised since launching. With over $50,000 cash on hand, the campaign enters the next phase of the election powered by grassroots support from a growing donor base that rejects contributions from corporate PACs and developers.
Demonstrating strong organizational strength on the ground, the campaign also announced that it intends to officially file for ballot placement on the first day, October 19, 2026. The campaign will submit over 4 times the signatures required for ballot placement collected by dedicated volunteer circulators across the ward.
The strong quarterly showing and petition collection emphasizes a growing desire for a new direction and more engaged leadership across the 32nd Ward, which spans vibrant neighborhoods including Roscoe Village, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, and Bucktown.
"This filing sends a clear, unambiguous message: the residents of the 32nd Ward are demanding change," said Patrick Gilsenan, candidate for 32nd Ward Alderperson. "We are building a campaign powered by neighbors who want an active, present Alderperson. Someone who shows up in every corner of the ward, listens to residents, and works collaboratively to address our shared challenges."
Gilsenan’s campaign is focused on tackling key neighborhood priorities through pragmatic progressive, community-driven policies:
Present & Responsive Ward Governance: Delivering accessible constituent services and proactive communication to ensure every neighborhood feels represented in City Hall.
Expanding Housing Access & Affordability: Advocating for proactive housing strategies that addresses our housing shortage, combats displacement, and ensures residents of all income levels can afford to call the 32nd Ward home.
Evidence-Based Public Safety Investments: Prioritizing comprehensive, proven public health and safety approaches that combine community-based violence prevention, expanded mental health resources, and strong neighborhood infrastructure.
